Stuck on a tower? Beaten by a laughing cat? Start here.

Here are answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, email us.

How to play

What's the goal?

Fly as far as you can and beat your best score. You're Pip, a stunt-pilot songbird. Flap through the gaps between brick chimneys and tree trunks, and smash through the forts the alley cats built on top of the towers. Every tower you pass scores a point, and bonking cats scores even more.

What are the controls?
  • Tap Flap. It fires the instant your finger touches the screen.
  • Swipe left Slingshot forward. Tilt the swipe to aim: left-and-down launches you upward, like pulling back a slingshot. A longer swipe flings harder.
  • Pause The round button in the top-right corner.

You hold up to three shots, shown as little birds in the top-left corner. Each slingshot uses one. Fly into a cat, or a cat floating on balloons, to reload.

What ends a run?

Hitting a tower (brick chimneys rise from the ground, tree trunks hang from the sky) or the ground. Concrete gates, the grey ones with hazard stripes, stop you too, so slingshot through them instead. Everything else, from cats and glass to wood and TNT, is there to be smashed.

Right after a slingshot, Pip glows for a moment. That's armor: your first tower hit bounces you off instead of ending the run.

How does FEVER work?

Bonk cats in a chain to fill the FEVER meter under your score. When it's full, Pip becomes a fireball for a few seconds. Towers shatter when you hit them (+2 each), and every tap blasts you forward instead of flapping, for free. If a tower is still right in front of you when the fire would go out, FEVER keeps burning until you're through it.

Can storms hurt me?

No. The weather can't end your run, but rain makes flying heavier: each flap lifts you less and gravity pulls harder. The lightning is just for show. When the rain stops, the sun comes back with a rainbow.

What are missions, stars, medals and birds?

The results screen shows three missions at a time, such as “Bonk 5 cats in one run”. Each mission you complete earns a star, and stars unlock new birds: seven in all, counting Pip. Medals depend on your score in a run: bronze at 10, silver at 30, gold at 60 and platinum at 100.

Who's the laughing cat?

If a cat laughs at your crash, it comes back in your next run as an eye-patched pirate captain. Bonk it for REVENGE.

Settings and progress

How do I turn off sound, music or vibration?

On the title screen, use the three round buttons in the top-right corner. The speaker turns sound effects on or off, the music note turns the music on or off, and the vibrating phone turns haptics (vibration) on or off. A slash across a button means it's off. The same buttons are on the pause screen.

On iPhone, the game is also silent whenever your phone is in Silent mode.

How do I reset my progress?

There's no reset button in the game. Your progress (best score, missions, stars and unlocked birds) is saved only on your device, so to start over, delete the game and install it again. On Android you can instead go to Settings › Apps › Shahed Bird › Storage and tap Clear storage.

This can't be undone, and we can't restore progress for you. If your phone later restores the game from a backup, your old progress may come back with it.

Can I move my progress to a new phone?

Progress isn't tied to an account, so it doesn't sync between devices. If you set up a new phone by restoring a backup of your old one (for example with iCloud Backup or Google's Android backup), your progress may come along with the rest of your app data.

Does it work offline?

Yes. You can play without an internet connection. The game-over banner just won't load until you're back online.

Which phones are supported?

iPhones running iOS 17 or later. The Android version is on its way.

Ads and privacy

Why are there ads?

Ads support the game's development. There's exactly one: a banner at the bottom of the game-over screen. You'll never see an ad while you're flying, on the title screen or when you pause, and there are no video ads.

Can I remove the ads?

Not at the moment. There's no ad-free option yet.

I saw an inappropriate ad. What can I do?

Sorry about that! Email us a screenshot or a short description and roughly when you saw it, and we'll look into blocking it.

What data does the game collect?

Your progress stays on your device. The game sends anonymous gameplay stats to TelemetryDeck, and the banner comes from Google AdMob, which collects device and ad data to show and measure ads. The Privacy Policy has the full details.

How do I limit ad personalization?

On iPhone, the game never asks to track you, so it can't read your advertising identifier. On Android, delete or reset your advertising ID in Settings › Privacy › Ads (on some phones, Settings › Google › Ads). You can also turn off ad personalization for your Google Account in My Ad Center.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your permission when you first open the game, and you can change your choice later. See Your choices in the Privacy Policy for more.

Problems

I found a bug.

Thanks for telling us! Email us with:

  • your phone model and its iOS or Android version;
  • the game's version (on iPhone: Settings › General › iPhone Storage › Shahed Bird);
  • what happened just before the problem;
  • a screenshot or screen recording, if you can.
The game stutters or feels slow.

Close other apps you aren't using, turn off Low Power Mode (or Battery Saver on Android), and restart your phone. If it still stutters, send us your phone model and we'll take a look.
